How is this different than just hiring a driver or a cab?

Wine and Then Somm Wine Tours is more than just a driver. Our guide is passionate about wine, has knowledge of the area and con provide an informative experience for you.

Are tasting fees included?

No, you are responsible for all tasting/tour fees. Many wineries in the Okanagan will waive tasting fees with purchase.

What wine experience do you have?

Dave has been tasting wine for more than three decades both locally and internationally. Beyond this passion, Dave has also completed formal wine education recently receiving his WSET 3.

How many people can come on the tour?

As many as seatbelts in the vehicle to a maximum of 6 passengers.

If we have more than 6, are you able to drive two vehicles?

We specialize in small groups so six people is our maximum. There are a variety of tour buses that offer tours for larger groups. We would be happy to make some suggestions.

How do i pay for the tour?

A refundable deposit may be required to secure your booking. Any tasting fees made in advance will be charged as they are made. Any remaining balance can be paid to your wine guide at the end of the day. Gratuities are not included in pricing but are always appreciated. We accept cash or credit card.

What is your cancellation policy?

Up to 48 hours prior, you can cancel at no cost for you. Less than 48 hours, the 3 hour minimum charge will apply.

Can you provide the vehicle for us?

No, we do not provide vehicles for tours. We will drive your vehicle or you are welcome to rent one. If you rent a vehicle, make sure you let us know so that we can give you our guide’s driver information for the rental company.

Can i still book with you if i have a rental vehicle?

Can you drive stick?

Our guide can drive both manual and standard transmission vehicles. Vehicles must be well-maintained and in good working condition.

How does it work with insurance?

Our guides operate under your insurance policy-we recommend you carry a minimum if $2 million lability to ensure your vehicle is protected. Starting September 1, 2019, when you renew your insurance, make sure that you get the “Unlisted Motorist Protection”. There is no additional cost for this and covers others drivers for occasional use on your car. ICBC information is available here.

If you are renting a vehicle, contact us in advance so that Dave can be included as a driver on your vehicle.
